Overview

The Bay at Golden Hour

As the day softens, light moves across the hills, birds settle along the shoreline, and the water often takes on a calm, reflective glow. Sunset Tours are relaxed guided paddles for guests who want a peaceful evening on the water without continuing fully into the dark.

We move slowly, pause often, and allow time to take in the changing light, wildlife, and shoreline. This is a beautiful option for couples, friends, visitors, locals, private groups, and anyone seeking a gentle end-of-day experience.

No prior kayaking experience is required. Guests should bring warm layers, water-friendly shoes, and a jacket for cooler evening air.

What to Expect

What the evening looks like

We begin with a warm welcome, paddle orientation, safety review, and overview of night paddling expectations.

Once on the water, we paddle through protected areas of Tomales Bay at a relaxed pace. Your guide will support the group, share local knowledge, and create space for quiet observation.

We return to shore with time to land gently and close the evening.

No prior kayaking experience is required, though guests should feel comfortable being on the water after dark.

What to Bring

What to bring

Warm layered clothing, a windbreaker or jacket, closed-toe shoes or water-friendly shoes, a warm hat, water, and a towel or change of clothes for afterward.

We provide kayaks, paddles, PFDs/life jackets, basic dry storage, and guide support.

Safety & Stewardship

Safety & stewardship

Sunset Tours are led by trained guides and are offered only when conditions are appropriate. Because this is an evening paddle, we pay close attention to wind, fog, visibility, tide, current, temperature, and guest comfort.

Forecasts are advisory; actual conditions on the bay guide our decisions.

We paddle respectfully, keep voices low, and move with care for wildlife, shoreline habitat, and the quiet of the bay.

Your safety, and the bay's well-being, come before everything else.
